Global expert appointed to lead Victoria Park Precinct Master Plan

The Queensland Government has appointed Arup – global leaders in urban planning, engineering and landscape architecture – as the principal contractor for the Victoria Park Master Plan.

More than 20 firms expressed interest in helping shape this iconic precinct. This shows strong interest from industry to deliver infrastructure that benefit Queenslanders for generations to come.

This marks the next phase of planning for the Victoria Park Precinct, which will become a world-class hub for recreation, events and lifestyle. Key facilities within the precinct:

  • Brisbane Stadium – 63,000 capacity, will host Opening and Closing Ceremonies at 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games
  • National Aquatic Centre – a world class facility for Games events, designed for future competition and community use
  • Brisbane Athletes Village – walking distance from the precinct, delivering inner-city housing post-Games

The first stage of planning – the Infrastructure Structure Plan - will:

  • Carry out technical site investigations
  • Map key roads, paths and public spaces
  • Plan for smooth movement around the precinct during and after the Games

The Queensland Government is working closely with Brisbane City Council, the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA), and other key stakeholders to ensure integrated design outcomes across the precinct.
