Brisbane Stadium one step closer to naming builder

The new Brisbane Stadium reaches another key milestone.

The new Brisbane Stadium has reached another key milestone, with a joint venture between BESIX Watpac and John Holland moving to the next stage of the selection process to decide the construction partner for the iconic new venue.

The team will now work with the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) and the stadium's design team to finalise design detail and construction methodology. Construction is set to commence in 2027.

Once complete, Brisbane Stadium will be a world-class venue for sport and entertainment, hosting the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and athletics during the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games before welcoming major events and sport such as the AFL and cricket, with the Brisbane Lions, Brisbane Heat, and Queensland Bulls all calling the new stadium home.
